I am a Lake Shawnee resident in Jefferson Township writing to ask for your support in revisiting the effort to change the mailing ZIP code serving our community from Wharton, NJ 07885 to Lake Hopatcong, NJ 07849.

Lake Shawnee is located in Jefferson Township, Morris County—not in the Borough of Wharton. The current Wharton mailing address can create confusion for businesses, deliveries, records, online databases and other services that associate a ZIP code with a municipality.

This proposal was considered by the U.S. Postal Service in 2016, and I believe it is worth reviewing again.
